Privacy Policy

SpiritVale Guide uses lightweight, privacy-friendly analytics. This page explains what is collected, what is not, and how you can opt out.

Analytics we use

This site uses Plausible Analytics, a lightweight, open-source analytics service designed to be privacy-friendly by default.

Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track visitors across websites. It is fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR without requiring a consent banner.

What we collect

Plausible collects only aggregate, anonymous data to help us understand how visitors use SpiritVale Guide:

  • Page path — which pages are visited (e.g., /best-starting-class/)
  • Referrer source — the general type of source that led you here (search engine, direct link, social media)
  • Device type — general category derived from the User-Agent string (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • Visit duration — approximate time spent on the site during a session
  • Browser and OS — general information about the browser and operating system family

All data is aggregated. We cannot and do not identify individual visitors.

What we do not collect

Plausible is designed from the ground up to avoid collecting personal information:

  • No cookies — Plausible sets zero cookies in your browser
  • No personal identifiers — no name, email, phone number, or account data
  • No precise IP addresses — IP addresses are not stored or processed
  • No location data — your city, region, or GPS location is never collected
  • No cross-site tracking — Plausible does not follow you across other websites
  • No fingerprinting — no browser fingerprinting or unique visitor IDs
  • No data sharing — analytics data is never sold or shared with third parties

How to opt out

Because Plausible does not use cookies, you cannot opt out by clearing cookies. Instead:

  • Browser extensions — use a privacy-focused extension such as uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, or any ad blocker that blocks the plausible.shipsolo.io domain
  • Browser settings — enable your browser's built-in tracker blocking (available in Firefox, Safari, Brave, and Edge)
  • Do Not Track — Plausible Analytics does not track visitors who have enabled the Do Not Track (DNT) header in their browser settings

Legal compliance

SpiritVale Guide is a fan-made, independent site accessible to visitors worldwide. We follow standard privacy practices:

  • GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation) — Plausible is GDPR-compliant by design. No consent banner is required because no personal data or cookies are used.
  • CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) — No personal information is collected or sold, so CCPA rights to delete or opt out of data sale do not apply.
  • PECR (UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) — No consent is required for Plausible's privacy-friendly data processing.

Data retention

Plausible analytics data is retained indefinitely in aggregate form for traffic trend analysis. Since the data is fully anonymous and contains no personal information, indefinite retention does not pose a privacy risk under GDPR or CCPA.

Questions or requests

If you have questions about this privacy policy or your data, you can reach out through the site's feedback channels. We will respond to verified privacy-related requests as required by applicable law.

Effective date

This privacy policy is effective as of August 4, 2026. We may update it periodically if our analytics setup changes. Any changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
